We recently had the pleasure of meeting a group of technicians and sales managers from DAF Veicoli Industriali S.p.A. at the headquarters of Fassi Gru S.p.A. in Albino. This was an opportunity to get to know the structure of the Fassi Innovation Centre and show some of Fassi's modern production areas located in Val Seriana (Bergamo). The extensive sharing of experiences and points of view focused on different aspects of the market, making possible an interesting exchange of ideas aimed at establishing a fruitful and cordial collaborative understanding.

"It is a matter of great pride for us to be able to announce that in January this year Fassi Asia Pacific SDN. BHD. obtained the prestigious licence for the construction of truck-mounted cranes from the Malaysian Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH)." This was how Michele Dossi, CEO of Fassi Asia Pacific, began during the official ceremony that marked the awarding of this important recognition to Fassi. "Since we started our operations in Malaysia in 2013, we have dedicated ourselves to leading this industry of manufacturing articulated hydraulic cranes without ever neglecting the safety and well-being of people in the workplace." Michele Dossi points out that "being the first truck-mounted crane manufacturer in Malaysia to receive DOSH certification is a truly significant achievement. This recognition will allow us to offer our cranes directly to potential users in the domestic market." "Not only is this testament to our ongoing commitment to the highest standards of quality and safety, but it also reinforces FASSI's position as an international brand of recognised value, able to meet the stringent requirements necessary for local production in Malaysia," concluded the CEO of Fassi Asia Pacific. International certifications are essential for equipment that operates under pressure. In Europe, PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) certification is compulsory for all equipment with operating pressure above 0.5 bar, while in Malaysia DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) certification is required for pressures greater than or equal to 3000 pounds per inch. Looking to the future, Fassi Asia Pacific is keen to continue its path of excellence and innovation in the production of truck-mounted cranes, always keeping the safety and wellbeing of people in the workplace as its primary focus.

As a key component of The Red Sea destination’s regenerative tourism initiative, the installation of the last villa on Sheybarah Island marks a significant milestone in Mammoet’s transformative journey since the contract signing in May 2022. Mammoet’s role included transporting and installing 73 prefabricated villa orbs from Sharjah, UAE, to Sheybarah Island in the Saudi Red Sea. The hyper-luxury resort, featuring a distinctive design by Killa Design, now stands as a testament to Mammoet’s commitment to precision and excellence in engineered heavy lifting. Demonstrating expertise from factory to foundation, Mammoet seamlessly integrated architectural marvels into Sheybarah Island’s pristine landscape, rich in mangroves, white sand dunes, and vibrant coral reefs. Raimondi LRH174 Luffing Cranes Shine In Melbourne’s Parliament Restoration READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE:https://moveitmagazine.com/2023/10/10/raimondi-lrh174-luffing-cranes-shine-in-melbournes-parliament-restoration/ Clark Cranes, the official Raimondi agent, has successfully deployed two Raimondi LRH174 hydraulic luffing jib cranes as part of the ongoing restoration project for the Parliament of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia. Over the past 15 years, Clark Cranes has established itself as a valued partner of Raimondi Cranes, managing operations in the Victoria district. The company is proud to have supplied one of its most sought-after crane models from their fleet to the project contractors, O’Connor & Sons and Harris HMC. Michael Clark, the Managing Director of Clark Cranes, expressed his pride in contributing to the restoration of this iconic Melbourne landmark. He stated, “It is an honor for us to participate in the restoration of such a valuable landmark for the city of Melbourne by deploying two of our machines.” The extensive refurbishment of the Parliament building has been carried out in multiple stages over the past decade. The two LRH174 luffing cranes were strategically installed at different phases by the skilled commissioning team at Clark Cranes. The first crane was erected in 2019, followed shortly by the installation of the second crane in 2020. Both LRH174 cranes were placed on a ballast base with a final configuration featuring a 36-meter mast and a maximum radius of 50 meters. These 10-ton luffers boast a tip load capacity of 2.25 tons and can achieve a maximum lifting speed of 190 meters per minute, thanks to their 45kW hoisting gear with a drum capacity of 600 meters. To minimize disruptions at the busy government site, the decision to mount the cranes on a ballast base was crucial. This approach eliminated the need for extensive excavation work required for permanent footings. Additionally, the LRH174’s hydraulic luffing system operates quietly compared to traditional mechanical luffers. The LRH174 is designed for ease of installation, contributing to efficient onsite operations. Ground-level assembly of the crane’s jib, hoisting winch, and rope reeving streamlines the process. Notably, the LRH174’s compact 10-meter out-of-service boom is ideal for narrow jobsites, and its hydraulic system ensures smooth and swift luffing movement. Michael Clark noted the increasing demand for luffing jib cranes like the LRH174, particularly in projects with oversailing issues where the 10-meter out-of-service radius proves invaluable during decision-making. As the Parliament restoration project nears its final stage, both LRH174 cranes will be dismantled in the coming months. They are slated for reallocation to two other jobsites at the start of 2024, showcasing their versatility and adaptability in meeting diverse construction needs. #Raimondi #LRH174 #ClarkCranes #MoveItMagazine

Bigge Unveils Eco-Friendly All-Electric Crawler Crane READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE: https://moveitmagazine.com/2023/09/29/bigge-unveils-eco-friendly-all-electric-crawler-crane/ Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. has introduced its latest addition, the Liebherr LR 1250.1 unplugged, an all-electric crawler crane, marking a groundbreaking milestone as California’s and the U.S. West Coast’s first of its kind. Bigge’s extensive fleet, consisting of over 1,800 cranes, now includes this innovative eco-conscious heavy-lifting solution. Committed to advancing sustainable practices, Bigge’s acquisition of the all-electric crane offers customers an environmentally friendly option. With its electric powertrain, the LR 1250.1 unplugged can operate continuously when connected to shore power or up to 8 hours on battery power alone, offering flexibility and sustainability. When plugged in, the LR 1250.1 unplugged matches its diesel counterpart in maximum lifting capacity (275 US t), hoisting speed (up to 446 ft/min), and maximum reach (486 ft). This means customers can reduce their carbon footprint without sacrificing worksite productivity. Joe Nelms, VP & Chief Business Development Officer, emphasized Bigge’s relationship with Liebherr and the significance of adding the first all-electric crawler crane to their Perfect Fleet, stating, “Bigge’s roots have been established in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1916, and we’re excited to be a part of California’s push for a greener future.” Notably, the crane’s electric powertrain ensures minimal noise emissions while in operation, measuring less than 101 dbA. This noise level is akin to that of a household lawnmower or kitchen blender, making it an excellent choice for densely populated urban areas and noise-sensitive environments. The LR 1250.1 unplugged also incorporates Liebherr’s latest technological advancements and safety features, including a redesigned cab for enhanced visibility and improved lift assistance systems. Bigge’s Liebherr LR 1250.1 unplugged is set to arrive in California in October 2023, further enriching its fleet of rental cranes serving the U.S. West Coast. #Bigge #Liebherr #LR1250.1 #Electric #CrawlerCrane #MoveItMagazine

Jaso Tower Cranes: Leading Europe’s Largest Floating Caisson Projects READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE: https://moveitmagazine.com/2023/09/21/jaso-tower-cranes-leading-europes-largest-floating-caisson-projects/ In the realm of engineering endeavors marked by their complexity, demanding atmospheric conditions, high costs, and intense economic activity, few undertakings rival the expansion of docks and ports. These formidable projects become even more challenging when they require completion within tight schedules and with a minimal environmental footprint. The answer to this challenge lies in the deployment of floating caissons, prefabricated reinforced concrete structures with distinctive dimensions and cubic shapes, featuring a network of vertical cells in various geometric configurations to reduce their weight. Manufactured in caissoniers or floating docks at sea, these caissons are subsequently transported to their ultimate destinations. Jaso Tower Cranes, a prominent player in the construction industry, has left an indelible mark on over 80 floating caisson projects worldwide. Collaborating with renowned construction companies such as Acciona, Sacyr, Grupo Puentes, Dragados, SATO, OHL, Fomento, and FCC, they have contributed to ports’ development across the globe, including Algeciras, Sagunto, Cartagena, Gijón, and Rota. Notably, their caissons have found their way to international destinations like Sweden, Indonesia, Aberdeen, and the port of Algiers. One of their most recent achievements is the Kugira project by Acciona, which, in 2022, saw the construction of six colossal floating caissons at Punta Langosteira, A Coruña. This landmark project established the site as the largest floating caisson dock in Europe. These imposing caissons stretched 60 meters in length, spanned 24 meters in width, and weighed a staggering 15 tons each. To bring this vision to life, Jaso Tower Cranes relied on the formidable capabilities of two High Top cranes supplied by their distributor, Alfeco. The J300N.A, equipped with a 75-meter reach, a maximum load capacity of 12 tons, and 2.7 tons of tip load, worked in tandem with a J110N crane with a reach of 55 meters and an impressive 8-ton maximum load capacity. These cranes, known for their precision and ease of assembly, proved ideal for the demanding requirements of this project, which included handling substantial yet delicate loads. In Bilbao, another collaboration with Alfeco resulted in the successful completion of numerous floating caisson projects. Once again, Jaso Tower Cranes harnessed the capabilities of the J300N.A and J110N models, alongside two J145.A cranes boasting a 60-meter reach, 8 tons of maximum load capacity, and 2 tons of tip load. Further underscoring their prowess in the field, Jaso Tower Cranes has been involved in approximately 30 projects in the Canary Islands. They have deployed a variety of caisson types tailored to each port’s specific requirements. For the larger caissons, the J300N.A was the crane of choice, while smaller counterparts were skillfully handled with the J52NS crane, offering a 52-meter reach, 5 tons of maximum load capacity, and 1.1 tons of tip load. #JasoTowerCranes #TowerCranes #MoveItMagazine

Vienna’s Mariahilfer Straße To Welcome New Shopping Destination With Wolffkran Cranes READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE: https://moveitmagazine.com/2023/07/13/viennas-with-wolffkran-cranes/ Vienna’s bustling Mariahilfer Straße, known as “Mahü” to locals, is set to introduce a new shopping destination. The Lamarr department store, named after Austrian film icon Hedy Lamarr, will be constructed on the site of the former Leiner furniture store. The modern yet traditional-style department store will include a hotel, restaurants, and a publicly accessible green roof garden. To build the structure, Austrian contractor Habau Hoch- und Tiefbaugesellschaft purchased a WOLFF 8033.16 Cross crane, which will work alongside two other WOLFF cranes. The construction of the building shell is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Due to the location’s high foot traffic in downtown Vienna, a unique crane solution was necessary. Wolffkran devised a crane concept where the WOLFF 8033.16 was first erected using a mobile crane. This crane was then employed to install the WOLFF 7532.16 Cross, which, in turn, erected the flattop WOLFF 6023.8 Clear crane. This strategic approach minimized the use of a mobile crane on the busy shopping street. Overcoming challenges, such as limited space and neighboring buildings, required careful planning and coordination with Wolffkran. The cranes were installed at the beginning of 2022 and have been crucial in transporting concrete, formwork, and reinforcement for the construction of the in-situ concrete shell. However, the most challenging phase awaits when the final crane needs to be dismantled. Due to the tight construction space, the WOLFF 7532.16 and the WOLFF 6023.8 cannot be dismantled using a mobile crane. The WOLFF 7532.16 will first dismantle the WOLFF 6023.8, and then the 8033.16 will dismantle the 7532.16. This process involves splitting the 13-tonne counter jib into two parts, requiring careful handling and support structures. Habau and Wolffkran have a long-standing collaboration and have worked on various projects together. The Lamarr project is expected to be completed by 2024, joining their portfolio of successful endeavors, such as the Harbor Portal in Linz and the Vienna Twenty Two residential quarter. #WolffkranCranes #WOLFF #Construction #MoveItMagazine

Liebherr Crane Takes To The Skies: Helicopter Assembly Overcomes Construction Challenges In Bratislava READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE: https://moveitmagazine.com/2023/07/10/liebherr-crane-takes-to-the-skies/ In a remarkable display of ingenuity, Liebherr dealer Kranimex and heavy haulage specialist Tech-Mont tackle the obstacle of restricted access in Bratislava, Slovakia by employing an unconventional assembly method. A 40 LC top-slewing crane is airlifted into the city center via helicopter to aid in the construction of new apartments. The project site, located in a burgeoning area with limited road access, presented unique challenges, including protruding edges of neighboring buildings and the disruption caused by tram traffic. A conventional assembly method using a mobile crane would have necessitated the suspension of public transport and the costly dismantling and reinstallation of tram power lines. However, the collaboration between Kranimex and Tech-Mont found an innovative solution in helicopter assembly. Over the course of two days, using an MI-8T helicopter with a lifting capacity of three tonnes, the crane components, including tower sections, jib, and counter jib, were carefully transported from a temporary storage location near the Danube to the construction site, flying over the city’s rooftops. With eleven flights in total, even the heaviest crane part, a 2,750-kilogram slewing platform, was effortlessly lifted into place. Skilled service fitters from Kranimex received the airlifted components and completed the assembly of the top-slewing crane. Patrik Šeba, service fitter from Liebherr dealer Kranimex, emphasizes the significance of strong and reliable teamwork in achieving this exceptional assembly, having previously collaborated with Tech-Mont on two other projects. The Liebherr 40 LC crane, with a hook height of 30 meters and a jib spanning just under 25 meters, boasts a maximum lifting capacity of 4,000 kilograms. To optimize space, the crane is mounted on foundation anchors and features the narrow 63 LC tower system, with external dimensions of only 1.2 x 1.2 meters. Despite being built in 2006, the top-slewing crane continues to demonstrate its reliability, a testament to the exceptional quality and durability of Liebherr machines. Expected to remain in operation until the end of 2023 for the residential project in Bratislava’s city center, the crane’s compact dimensions allow it to navigate the site effortlessly, facilitating various lifting operations such as the movement of bricks and concrete. Once its work is complete, the crane will be dismantled by helicopter, making its return journey over the rooftops of Bratislava. #Kranimex #Liebherr #40C #helicopter #MoveItMagazine

Liebherr Crane Revitalizes Historic Church In Bad Reichenhall READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE: https://moveitmagazine.com/2023/06/01/liebherr-revitalizes-historic-church/ Renovation work in the picturesque town of Bad Reichenhall, Germany, is taking place against the backdrop of majestic mountains. The focal point of the project is the restoration of the 12th-century parish church of St. Zeno, a listed historical building. However, the challenging ground conditions surrounding the church posed a significant obstacle. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Tradler-Baumaschinen and Liebherr, a suitable solution was devised to ensure the smooth operation of a top-slewing crane at the church site. The primary concern revolved around the unstable ground caused by the adjacent cemetery. Furthermore, due to the constraints imposed by the cemetery, the crane and its substructure could only be positioned on the pathways between the graves. Overcoming this dilemma required an innovative approach. The solution involved the utilization of a gantry, a steel construction that provided unrestricted access beneath the crane. A concrete foundation with cement grout-injected micropiles was established, upon which a 6 x 6 meter gantry was placed. These micropiles, with a diameter of less than 30 centimeters, enabled the use of smaller and lighter drilling equipment. The paths were the only areas where foundations were set, ensuring the preservation of the graves. Subsequently, a mobile crane mounted a 250 EC-B flat-top crane with a 21 HC tower system and undercarriage onto the gantry. This configuration offered stability to the crane and allowed it to operate effectively above the graves. This successful implementation was made possible by the longstanding partnership between Tradler-Baumaschinen and Liebherr. Konrad Kracher, a sales representative at Tradler-Baumaschinen GmbH, expressed his confidence in the partnership, stating, “Liebherr and Tradler-Baumaschinen have enjoyed a successful and trusted partnership for decades.” Alexander Beck, the Area Sales Manager at Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing Tradler-Baumaschinen’s reliable and customized service to customers. Tradler-Baumaschinen not only provided the crane for the renovation work but also assumed responsibility as the service partner. The assembly process was straightforward, aided by the assembly and transport capabilities of the 250 EC-B crane. The inclusion of LiConnect quick connectors facilitated the attachment of the jib, counter-jib, and other components to the compact head with slewing platform, cabin, and switchgear cabinet. The Liebherr 250 EC-B crane deployed in Bad Reichenhall boasts a hook height of nearly 51 meters and a 65-meter-long jib. With a jib head lifting capacity of up to 2,850 kilograms and a maximum lifting capacity of twelve tonnes, this top-slewing crane proves to be a powerful tool for the project. Intelligent assistance systems like Micromove assist the crane operator in precise and smooth placement of building materials, crucial for preserving the integrity of the listed church. Throughout the anticipated year-long renovation period, the tower crane will be involved in various tasks. Initially, it will assist in erecting scaffolding and a temporary roof system. As the project progresses, the top-slewing crane will remove a portion of the protective roof each day, allowing for the movement of materials within the roof truss. Given the reinforcement of the existing roof truss with structural steelwork, frequent transportation of heavy steel elements and other building materials will be necessary. #Liebherr #250EC-B #MoveItMagazine

MAXIKraft Expands Crane Fleet With Liebherr LR 11000 READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE: https://moveitmagazine.com/2023/05/22/maxikraft-expands-with-lr-11000/ MAXIKraft has recently added another Liebherr LR 11000 crawler crane to its fleet, making it the third of its kind in their lineup. The company values the exceptional versatility of this 1,000-tonne machine from the renowned Liebherr factory in Ehingen. In its inaugural operation, the crane successfully assembled a Vestas 5.6 MW wind turbine at the Dünfus wind farm near Cochem, lifting components weighing up to 100 tonnes to a height of 170 meters. Maik Kanitzky, the owner of MAXIKraft, explains the investment decision, stating, “With its special configurations, the LR 11000 offers enormous lifting capacities for wind power assemblies. But it also offers flexible deployment options for other applications.” MAXIKraft utilizes multiple large lattice boom cranes manufactured in Ehingen, including LG 1750, LR 1700-1.0, LR 1800-1.0, and LR 11000 models. Steffen Lehmann, responsible for the deployment of these large cranes at MAXIKraft, emphasizes the importance of the highly flexible set-up versions and boom combinations offered by Liebherr’s lattice boom cranes. He praises the LICCON2 control system, which provides real-time information on various parameters such as load, winch pull, boom position, ground pressure, and center of gravity. The brand new LR 11000’s maiden task took it to the Dünfus wind farm, where MAXIKraft was entrusted with erecting a Vestas 5.6 MW wind turbine. This impressive turbine boasts a rotor diameter of 150 meters, a hub height of 169 meters, and an overall height of 244 meters, making it one of Germany’s most powerful wind turbines. The heaviest component, weighing approximately 100 tonnes, is the gondola. On April 19, crane operator Marco G. successfully lifted the gondola onto the tower using a special yoke, following approval from the site manager. This operation was estimated to take around two hours. The decision to employ crawler cranes was particularly advantageous due to the crane’s ability to travel about 20 meters on excavator mats to reach the assembly position. For the Dünfus project, MAXIKraft configured the LR 11000 with a Liebherr 8-cylinder 500 kW engine, utilizing the SL10DF2BV set-up version with a 162-meter main boom, a 21-meter lattice-type fixed jib, and a 42-meter derrick boom. The crane comes standard with six winches, which control the movement of two hook blocks, the luffing gear for the main boom and luffing jib, as well as the V-frame for ballast positioning. After the completion of the last rotor blade assembly, the 1,000-tonne machine was disassembled and will be transported to the next site using over 50 trucks. The compact dimensions of the crane components, with a maximum width of 3.5 meters and a height of 3.2 meters, facilitate efficient transportation. The rapid expansion of wind power generation is expected to provide numerous spectacular opportunities for the blue/silver MAXIKraft crawler cranes. Celebrating its 30th anniversary last year, MAXIKraft and its group of companies possess extensive experience in crane services and heavy transport. Their fleet comprises telescopic, lattice, and crawler cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 25 to 1,000 tonnes, alongside road transport technology capable of carrying payloads of up to 300 tonnes. With a total of 23 branches, MAXIKraft. #Liebherr #LR11000 #MAXIKraft #MoveItMagazine

Office Building At Luxembourg Airport Built With Liebherr READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE: https://moveitmagazine.com/2023/04/14/office-at-luxembourg-airport-with-liebherr/ Liebherr’s seven flat-top cranes are playing a crucial role in the construction of the Skypark Business Center at Luxembourg Airport. The building, one of the largest timber structures in Europe, is a prestigious and challenging project that brings together architecture, functionality, and sustainability. The cranes, rented from Skyliners S.à R.L. rental fleet, are moving building materials just a few meters from the airport’s apron to the construction site. The machines in use are Liebherr’s 172 EC-B 8, two 202 EC-B 10, one 285 EC-B 12, and three 250 EC-B 12 cranes, with jib lengths of 40, 45, 50, and 55 meters, respectively. All of them have aircraft warning paintwork and a maximum lifting capacity of up to twelve tonnes, depending on the model. The highest tower cranes on the construction site are a 250 EC-B 12 and a 285 EC-B 12, with a hook height of 69 meters. The lowest one, another 250 EC-B 12, has a hook height of 50.4 meters. Thanks to their flexible adaptation to site conditions, the jib and tower elements in the EC-B series allow several cranes to work together in tight spaces without any issues. The cranes are equipped with assistance systems, such as the Micromove fine positioning mode, the Load-Plus short-term load increase function, and the ABB operating range limitation system, which increase handling performance, reliability, and safety. Since the first crane was erected in December 2020, the Liebherr machines have been efficiently supporting structural work. The Skypark Business Center will offer approximately 100,000 square meters of space for restaurants, retail, fitness facilities, hotels, offices, and a kindergarten upon its completion in late 2023/early 2024. It is the first milestone for Airport City, a large-scale development project around Luxembourg Airport. The new building is a Nearly Zero Energy Building, incorporating wooden construction, photovoltaic systems, rainwater collection, double facades, green roofs and terraces, and natural light to reduce its carbon footprint, energy consumption, and operating costs. Sustainability is already factored into the construction phase, as gravel from excavation is being used for the concrete walls and slabs of the parking spaces to reduce the number of trucks and cut down emissions. The flat-top cranes will continue to work on the site until the end of 2023. All the cranes are from the rental fleet belonging to Skyliners, which has been specializing in the rental and sale of tower cranes for over 25 years. The company offers its customers a fleet of close to 100 tower and fast erecting cranes, ranging from 26 to 630 metre-tonnes, along with experienced service technicians for assembly, dismantling, and maintenance of the Liebherr machines. #construction #Liebherr #TowerCranes #MoveItMagazine

LIEBHERR HELPS TO BUILD “ARBORETUM” READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE: https://moveitmagazine.com/2022/12/01/liebherr-helps-to-build-arboretum/ “Arboretum”, a park with 1,000 planted trees and modern workplaces surrounded by an abundance of wood is the vision for Europe’s largest timber campus in Nanterre near Paris. Ten Liebherr EC-B series tower cranes are involved in the 650 million Euro project designed to create a new connection between nature and the workplace and is sustainable thanks to its solid wood construction. The “Arboretum” project on the banks of the Seine will provide 125,000 square metres of office and service space and will be mostly built of solid wood. The offices are set to be spread over five buildings and each of them will be named after a tree: Almond, Pine, Cedar, Fir and Spruce. A park, a fruit and vegetable garden for the use of campus restaurants, and two renovated industrial buildings will complete the area. Measures designed to reduce the site’s carbon footprint include the reuse of materials, bioclimatic architecture and a geothermal system that will cover up to 80 percent of heating and cooling requirements . GCC, a longstanding customer of Liebherr, has two 220 EC-B 10s, two 250 EC-B 10s, one 250 EC-B 12, two 285 EC B 12s, two 340 EC-B 12s and one 370 EC-B 12 in operation on the project. The jibs in use are between 47.5 and 60 metres in length. Hook heights range from 41 to 59 metres. As a result of these configurations and their flat-top design, the cranes can rotate above each other without encountering any problems. The transport and assembly-optimised cranes can, depending on the model, lift a maximum of ten or twelve tonnes. A 280 EC-H 12 high-top crane is additionally in use for the construction of the service centre. Having as many as ten cranes on a construction site requires precise planning for efficient site operation. The top-slewing cranes, which will remain in operation until mid-2023, have to be coordinated with one another so that they don’t interfere with each other’s lifts. To ensure optimal safety, all cranes are equipped with an anti-collision system from the French manufacturer AMCS Technologies. The machines also include LiUP operator lifts, which particularly benefit crane operators and service engineers working at high hook heights, as is the case here. LiUP is designed to transport two people or a load of 200 kilograms. It gives crane operators quick access to their workplace and spares service engineers a strenuous climb during maintenance work. Precise positioning The construction of the new office buildings involves 20,000 cubic metres of wood from sustainably managed forests, as well as 55,000 cubic metres of concrete. All loads, some of which weigh several tonnes, have to be moved, and this is where the Liebherr tower cranes come in. The top-slewing cranes are being used for positioning timber and concrete elements such as posts, beams, columns, staircases and lifts. This work is supported by the Micromove fine positioning mode. The assistance system makes perfect use of Liebherr’s own high-performance drives so that loads are moved with precision over the course of several minutes and positioned with accuracy. This protects precast filigree concrete parts and existing constructions on site. Comprehensive service Most of the cranes are new machines that GCC has secured under a leasing agreement. “Leasing means that customers always benefit from the latest cranes,” explains Sébastien Chalvet, Liebherr Key Account Manager for the Île-de-France region. Liebherr-Grues à Tour is responsible for overall fleet management, “Working this way ensures that cranes are perfectly maintained for maximum availability, and that we can guarantee our customers the highest possible safety standards.” #Liebherr #TowerCranes #EC-B #Arboretum #MoveItMagazine

I leave you a little story... happy Friday. Of the provisional reception of a thirty-ton power crane supplied by tender by Messrs. Sheldon and Gerdtzen and installed in the outgoing wharf No. 2 of those built by this Board. Reconnaissance and tests of a steam crane with a power of thirty tons, supplied and assembled by Messrs. Sheldon and Gerdtzen in the aforementioned wharf No. 2. The recognition shows that the materials that go into the construction of the crane are of good quality, that the workmanship is careful and that the assembly has been carried out with the necessary perfection. To carry out the tests, the fifty-two-ton counterweight was placed, which is the one that has been adopted for the maximum load in this crane, and it was rotated without a load on the boom, with only the effort of two men, applied to the cranks of the movement by hand. This turn was made smoothly with the greatest ease, which demonstrates excellent project, construction and assembly conditions. For the successive tests, it was taken into account, as provided in article eight of the optional and economic specifications of the contest, that they had to be power and speed; and since the crane is designed to manually lift loads that do not exceed ten tons, the tests had to be carried out first with manual movement and then with the steam engine. The tests by hand were carried out by suspending a load of ten thousand kilograms of chains, with the effort of six men, who hoisted seventy centimeters in ten minutes, making a ninety-degree turn in one minute and two seconds, that is, at a speed of thirty-five centimeters per minute hoisting and a complete turn of the crane in four minutes and eight seconds. These speeds are within the ordinary conditions that six-man effort can produce on a hand-held crane. For the tests with a steam engine, a wooden barge was prepared, displacing approximately thirty-two cubic meters, after having placed the beams and steel wire ties. The day before the official test, this barge was suspended by means of the same crane, extracting it from the sea and placing it on the dock, and on the day of the date it was suspended again in the presence of the signatories, making it describe a turn of one hundred and sixty and four degrees in one minute and twenty seconds, a speed almost double that established in the specifications, which detailed later, required a speed of three hundred and sixty degrees in four minutes. The barge was lowered, leaving it on the dock again and a load of four tons of chains was added, which added to the thirty-two of the barque, give a total of thirty-six tons. That final load was suspended by the crane hoisting eighty centimeters in thirty-three seconds, which gives a speed of two meters and seven centimeters per minute, that is, twice the speed established in the specifications, which is one meter per minute. . To finish the tests, the crane was rotated until the boat projected out of the dock and was lowered into the water with the chain load attached. All these tests took place without any resistance or assembly defect being noted in the machine, verifying all the movements regularly and precisely. It is also stated in the certificate issued by Messrs. Sheldon and Gerdtzen in accordance with the provisions of article nine of the specifications for the tender, that the factories of the base of the crane and the embedments of the irons that hold it, built by the Board of Works of the Port are made in accordance with the project and with the solidity necessary to secure and handle the crane and this is confirmed by the recognition carried out by the Chief Engineer, who in view of all the above and in compliance with article ten of the specifications of conditions, provisionally considers the crane received, subject to what the Superiority resolves and for the record, signs this document, in quadruplicate, with the Messrs. above exposed in Santander on May 16, 1
