Sarens Successfully Executes Challenging Lifting Project In Adana, Turkey READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE: https://moveitmagazine.com/2023/10/12/sarens-successfully-executes-challenging-lifting-project-in-adana-turkey/ In a complex operation carried out in Adana, Turkey, last year, Sarens demonstrated their expertise in heavy lifting. The task was performed on behalf of their client, Gemont Endüstri Tesisleri İmalat ve Montaj A.S., and the project owner, SASAPolyester San. Tic. A.S., and it involved a range of specialized equipment as CC8800-1 with a boom booster, LR1750, CC2400-1, small mobile cranes and special spreaders. One of the key challenges was that the project site wasn’t suitable for cranes larger than the CC8800. In response, Sarens devised an engineering solution that utilized the CC8800-1 with a boom booster. In total, Sarens managed to lift 41 heavy units, including impressive components such as a 700-tonne, 22-meter oxidation reactor, a 700-tonne, 52-meter rectification column, and five 350-tonne, 52-meter silos. Installing each silo involved the CC8800-1 crawling approximately 100 meters before lifting in conjunction with the LR1750. The equipment was transported from Germany in just eight days, although customs clearance added another 26 days to the timeline. Subsequently, it was efficiently moved to the job site within three days and assembled in a mere 18 days. Transporting the primary crane necessitated the use of 100 trailers between the port and the job site, while 12 jib sections were delivered via 12 trailers from Croatia. Despite facing challenges such as a devastating earthquake, strong winds, and heavy rainfall that caused work delays, the Sarens team successfully completed the demanding lifts. Their efforts were recognized when the client’s project manager personally thanked the on-site team, which included two project managers, two site supervisors, eight to ten crane operators, and one engineer. #Sarens #Cranes #MoveItMagazine

Sarens Helps Build Africa’s Tallest Bridge In Cairo READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE: https://moveitmagazine.com/2023/09/08/sarens-helps-build-africas-tallest-bridge-in-cairo/ Sarens has played a pivotal role in the construction of what is set to become one of Africa’s highest bridges, the Al Hadarat Bridge in Cairo. Over the course of several weeks, Sarens executed two lifting operations on behalf of Arab Contractors, bringing the bridge project one step closer to completion. In the initial phase, Sarens successfully lifted and installed eleven massive steel beams, each weighing 150 tonnes and stretching 41 meters in length. To accomplish this, the crew utilized a CC4800 crane configured for SSL (Super Slim Lift) with a 66-meter main boom and 270T SL CW. After carefully hoisting each beam from its original position, the crane was expertly maneuvered into its designated location. The dedicated four-person team flawlessly executed eleven such lifts over the course of a single week. The choice of equipment for these lifts was crucial, and it performed admirably throughout the operation. The CC4800 crane was transported to the site following its completion of a prior project. Rigging preparations consumed five days, with the team working within extremely confined spaces, at times having only a mere 10cm of clearance. For the subsequent series of lifts, Sarens deployed the CC2600H crane, equipped with a 78-meter main boom, for another challenging high-altitude operation. The same four-person crew then installed 63 beams, each weighing a substantial 90 tonnes and measuring an impressive 50 meters in length. After carefully lifting each beam from the trailer, the team adeptly positioned it into place, successfully completing 63 such lifts within a span of three weeks. Once again, the choice of crane was paramount due to its capacity, and precise positioning was a critical aspect of the planning phase, given the necessity for a series of tightly coordinated lifts. The crane was brought to the site following its completion of a prior project, and rigging preparations took three days. The crane’s positioning was particularly challenging, with only a scant 15cm of clearance in its immediate surroundings. Working in close collaboration with the client, project manager Mohamed Abd El Nasser and country manager Essam Adel ensured meticulous attention to detail, from determining the number of lifts required to pinpointing exact lifting locations during installation. Despite contending with some challenging winds, the team successfully carried out the lifts necessary for this iconic project. The world’s gaze is fixed upon the Al Hadarat Bridge project, and Sarens takes immense pride in its role in bringing this remarkable endeavor to fruition! #Sarens #Cranes #CC4800 #CC2600H #MoveItMagazine

Sarens Receives First Liebherr LR 12500-1.0 READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE: https://moveitmagazine.com/2023/04/20/sarens-receives-lr-12500-1-0/ Sarens recently took delivery of the first unit of the new Liebherr LR 12500-1.0 crawler crane at the Port of Rostock on 1 April. Sophie Albrecht, a member of the Board of Liebherr International AG, handed over the symbolic key to Marc Sarens, Director & Member of the Board at Sarens. The Belgian company plans to primarily use the 2,500-tonne crawler crane in the renewable energy sector, particularly for handling offshore wind turbines. Sarens chose the new Liebherr LR 12500-1.0 for its high capacity, which is especially important in the renewable energy sector where the individual weights of components are increasing. Carl Sarens, Director Technical Solutions, Projects & Engineering, stated that “the capacity of the LR 12500-1.0 is enormous,” and that the initial assembly of the new crane was successful. During the symbolic handover of the keys to the LR 12500-1.0, Sophie Albrecht shared an interesting detail about the company’s founder, Hans Liebherr. She mentioned that the day of the handover would have been his 108th birthday. Sarens named the new crawler crane “Straffen Hendrik,” after a long-time employee, Hendrik Sanders. Sanders has been with the company for more than 30 years and is known for his strength, goodness, and robustness as a project planner for large cranes. The LR 12500-1.0 will be put to work in the port of Rostock, where it will lift 50 monopiles with a diameter of up to nine metres, a length of up to 90 metres, and a weight of more than 1,400 tonnes into the water in tandem lifts with a Liebherr LR 1800-1.0 over a period of about eight weeks. Together, the two cranes have a gross load capacity of up to 1,750 tonnes. The monopiles, which are the foundations for offshore wind turbines, will then be pulled afloat to a special ship that will transport them to the Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm, which is currently under construction about 30 kilometres north of the island of Rügen. #Sarens #Liebherr # LR 1800-1.0 #MoveItMagazine

Sarens’ Key Crane Working On Offshore Wind Project In Rostock, Germany READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE: https://moveitmagazine.com/2023/04/05/sarens-crane-on-offshore-wind/ Sarens has added the LR 12500-1.0 crane to its impressive fleet of over 1500 cranes, 3100 axle lines, and a set of Giant Cranes. Launched by Liebherr, the crane was dubbed “The Game Changer” by its original designers and offers versatile solutions for the offshore wind sector and beyond. Currently stationed in Rostock, Germany, the crane is executing an offshore wind project for Sarens’ client, Van Oord. According to Sarens Managing Director, Carl Sarens, the crane’s high lifting capacity is its outstanding feature, which will help close the gap between the company’s crawler and ringer cranes. The new 2500T crane is particularly suited for jobs in renewables and port handling work, where it can handle the increasing weights of components. In addition to offshore wind projects, the LR 12500-1.0 is also well-suited for use in the petrochemical industry and port handling work. Its easy transportability helps reduce rigging and transportation costs and time when deployed for global projects. The crane has been christened “Straffen Hendrik” in honor of long-time employee Hendrik Sanders, who has provided over 30 years of devoted service to the company. The name signifies strength, goodness, fineness, toughness, and robustness – qualities that characterize Hendrik’s steadfastness as Sarens’ crane guru. Sarens is committed to accelerating the energy transition and delivering projects on time while ensuring safety. The LR 12500-1.0 is a welcome addition to the company’s fleet and will serve as many clients as possible in the future. #Sarens #Cranes #LR12500-1.0 #Liebherr #MoveItMagazine

A PERFECTLY PLANNED NIGHT JOB READ YOUR FREE COPY HERE: https://moveitmagazine.com/2022/11/24/a-perfectly-planned-night-job/ The Tadano CC 38.650-1 crawler crane has performed exceptionaly when lifting a 250 tonne bridge during the night in the city of Hazebrouck, located in the north of France. This intervention was a subject to critical deadlines and Sarens’ project manager, Koen Rooms, wanted to leave nothing to chance: “That’s why we did a test lift the day before the planned response; This took place without any problem and validated all the preliminary calculations that we had carried out. We thus had the green light for the actual lifting operation scheduled for the next day, for which we had very little time.” It was therefore necessary to avoid at all costs the slightest delay during this intervention, from the assembly of the crane to its dismantling and evacuation, including the lifting operation itself. The site was indeed in the city center, at the station of the small town of Hazebrouck, located in the north of France. The 75 m long and 250 ton pedestrian bridge, planned to connect the station to a car park, had to be raised “in one piece” above eight railway tracks, moved, turned and finally placed on its foundations. To this end, the high-voltage lines above the tracks had to be de-energized for the duration of the intervention. “For this lifting operation, we opted for our Tadano CC 38.650-1 crane and equipped it in Superlift configuration with a 54 m jib, because it can reach exceptional load capacities. Plus, its compact design makes it easy to mount and move, even in the tightest of spaces,” says Koen Rooms. In order to disrupt traffic in the city as little as possible during the lifting operation, it was scheduled at night, over a weekend. Already the previous week, the Sarens team transported the crane to the construction site where they erected it in the space of 4 days in an SSL configuration, as well as a traffic lane made from wooden planks. Five hours lifting operation In order to be able to lift the bridge smoothly and avoid any damage, the Sarens team had developed special slings for the transom; these slings were used to lift the bridge. “The hoists made lifting rings unnecessary and not only helped us reduce assembly time, but also contributed to better control of the lifting operation.” This optimal preparation enabled the Sarens team to position the bridge on its foundations in just five hours, using the Tadano CC 38.650 crawler crane. “The crane had to lift the bridge to a height of 6 meters, within a working radius of 27 meters, and travel a total distance of 16 meters – a demanding task which the Tadano crane performed with flying colors”, summarizes Koen Room, with satisfaction at the end of the successfully completed project. #Tadano #CrawlerCrane #CC38650 #Superlift #Sarens #MoveItMagazine

The SGC250 is back in action doing what it does best, lifting another large steel ring for EDF at Hinkley point C. The installation shows how building an identical copy of the first reactor drives efficiency and saves time. The ring was built 25% more quickly than the same part on unit one, requiring thousands of hours less labour to manufacture. This “replication effect” will benefit the identical Sizewell C project in Suffolk. The prefabricated ring, which is 47 metres in diameter and 17 metres high, forms a reinforced cylinder around the nuclear reactor. #cranes #cranesareawesome #craneporn #craneoperator #heavylifting #heavyequipment #hinkleypointc #power #nuclear #sarens #cranehire
